President’s Dog Pees in Palace – level 3
10-11-2017 07:00
French President Macron allows his dog Nemo to come into meetings at the Elysée Palace, but this is not always a great idea! During one meeting, Nemo relieved himself on an antique fireplace, causing the president and staff members much hilarity.
One staff member asked if Nemo does this a lot, to which the president responded ‘no’ and added that perhaps the staff members were making his dog behave unusually.
Maybe President Macron knows where those government leaks are coming from now!
Difficult words: antique (old and valuable), hilarity (laughter), government leak (this is a joke or a pun—a ‘leak’ can be when someone hides his or her identity and tells secrets, and a ‘leak’ is an idiom that means ‘peeing’).
