French Faux Pas – level 2

French President Emmanuel Macron visited the USA and then he travelled to Australia. He was there to discuss trade and defence.

He gave a speech and he accidentally called the Australian prime minister’s wife ‘delicious’.

Some experts believe that he meant ‘delightful’.

Difficult words: faux pas (a mistake which can upset people and make you look bad), discuss (talk about), trade (business), defence (war and peace), delicious (very tasty), delightful (lovely, very nice).
