500,000 Americans Die from COVID-19

The coronavirus pandemic changed the world, and it had an impact on everybody. In the US, 500,000 people already died from COVID-19, and it made many people upset and scared. Nobody expected that so many people would die.

Experts said that the situation was very serious, and it would not get better soon. Something this terrible happened more than one hundred years ago when the Spanish flu killed millions of people in all of the world. The White House medical advisor said that people could still wear masks in 2022.

Only 15% of Americans got the COVID-19 vaccine, but the US president promised that the number would get much higher by summer. He said that this year’s Christmas could be much nicer than Christmas last year.

Difficult words: upset (very unhappy or worried), expect (to think that something will happen), advisor (a person who understands something and he tells others his ideas or opinions on it).
