Rhinos are back in Congo – level 1
19-06-2023 15:00
16 white rhinos come to Garamba National Park in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
The rhinos come from South Africa. Several organizations work together. They want to save the rhinos. Many people illegally kill rhinos. Without help, they will die. White rhinos return to Congo after 16 years.
The goal is to bring balance to the park and keep the rhinos in a safe place. This is part of a bigger plan to make new populations of rhinos. Moving the rhinos to Garamba National Park is an important step. It will keep the rhinos safe and help them live for a long time.
Difficult words: illegally (in a way which is against the rules), balance (a situation when something is steady and doesn’t fall), population (all the people or animals which live in a place or area).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
What strategies are being used to ensure the rhinos' safety in Garamba National Park?
