Sweden prepares for war – level 1
16-02-2024 15:00
NATO starts big exercises in Europe. Sweden is not in NATO but it joins, too.
Schools in Sweden teach about war. Teachers explain to children what to do in an emergency. Some children worry. Helplines get more calls. The government warns about war. There is a lot of negative information in the media.
Sweden’s plan is good. NATO likes it. Sweden may be part of NATO soon. They want people to be ready for anything. Everyone should know what to do if war starts. Sweden helps others be ready. Other countries follow Sweden and do the same things.
Difficult words: emergency (a serious or dangerous situation), helpline (telephone service for help), negative (not good or nice).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
What is Sweden's plan for preparing its citizens for war, and how have other countries responded to it?
