On Saturday night, Iran used drones and rockets to attack Israel.

Iran said that the attack was an answer to Israel’s attack on Iran’s consulate in Damascus earlier this month. Israeli soldiers were ready for the attack and they managed to withstand the attack with the help of other countries, for example, the US, UK, and Jordan. Jordan also said there was an emergency in the country. US President Biden was back at the White House for quick talks with his security team. People worry that things could get even worse and there might be a big fight in the area. The situation in the Middle East was serious already before the attack.

Difficult words: consulate (an office for people of a country in another country), withstand (to stay the same after something serious happens), emergency (a serious or dangerous situation).
