Italy needs more lifeguards – level 2

In Italy, lifeguards are becoming rare.
Daniel Gergaia, a 20-year-old, loves his job as a lifeguard and trained for months in the Adriatic Sea. This year, there is a 10% shortage of lifeguards because training now takes 100 hours instead of 30. Lifeguarding is a serious job with a lot of risk. Rescuing someone from drowning is hard. Alberto Biagini started working on the beach 29 years ago. He says young lifeguards prefer working at swimming pools because it is easier. He helps his younger colleagues and says lifeguarding is more than just enjoying the sun.
Last summer, lifeguards in Rimini saved 75 people from drowning. It is harder to find new lifeguards because students have exams in the summer. The job is hard, but Daniel likes it and says other young men should do it too.
