One innovative solution at Norlock involves using laser technology to remove the parasites, reducing infection rates. Also, farms in open sea environments benefit from ocean currents, which can help wash away waste and reduce diseases.

Chile’s salmon farms, which are heavily dependent on antibiotics, are also under scrutiny for their environmental impact. New methods like closed aquaculture systems, which keep farmed fish in tanks and prevent contamination, offer hope for a more sustainable future in salmon farming.
