Polish children have shooting lessons – level 2

18-12-2024 07:00

Poland now requires shooting lessons in schools to prepare children for possible dangers, like a Russian attack.

Students aged 13 and 14 learn how to assemble and use laser weapons, not real bullets. The lessons became mandatory three months ago. Most parents like the idea, seeing it as a way for their children to protect Poland and learn important skills. Students enjoy the classes and say the shooting is fun. But they find shooting someone in real life difficult.

In Poland, it is easy to get a gun license. Some people worry that teaching children to shoot may bring more problems, but the government believes this training will help keep the country safe in the future.

Difficult words: require (to make something necessary), mandatory (something you have to do), gun license (a document which says that you can own a gun).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

What are the differing opinions in Poland regarding the mandatory shooting lessons for students aged 13 and 14?
