Mud festival in South Korea – level 2
30-07-2014 15:00
A strange festival in South Korea started recently. Yes, we are talking about the 17th annual mud festival!
Festival organizers expect guests to come in clean clothes and leave covered in dirt and mud. People enjoy mud-wrestling pits and mud slides. There is even a mud prison! The point is to get as dirty as possible, and people seem to like it.
According to the organisers, around 3 million people came to the festival last year. They expect this many people to come this year, as well. The mud festival continues until July 27th.
Difficult words: annual (happening every year), pit (hole in the ground).
You can read the original story and watch the video in the Level 3 section.
