2022 climate change solutions – level 1
05-01-2023 07:00
People look for ways to stop climate change. Here are some solutions from 2022.
Divers in Cuba want to save coral reefs. The corals are broken. Divers attach small pieces of coral to handmade trees. These trees turn into real corals. They grow fast. Fish and other small animals start to live there.
People in California fight with droughts. A drought is a time with little rain. People turn large fields into ponds. When it rains, people store water in these ponds. They use this water when the droughts happen.
The Mapocho River is in Santiago, Chile. The river is very dirty in the past. Nothing lives in it. For 10 years, people try to clean it. Now, the river is a wetland. It is full of life.
Difficult words: solution (an idea to fix a problem), coral reef (a hard plant in the sea where many fish and other small animals live), wetland (an area of very wet land where plants and animals live).
