Austria has new rules for refugees – level 1

19-07-2024 07:00

Austria has new rules for asylum seekers, people who come from another country and want to live in Austria.

Refugees in Austria must do work to help the government or work in places like nursing homes and places for the homeless. They get money and other help from the government. But if they do not follow the rules, they will get less money.

A new list of rules teaches refugees about Austrian culture and other important things. These rules should help refugees have a better life and also help the Austrian people. Austria has stricter rules than in the past. This means that fewer refugees are coming to the country than a few years ago.

Difficult words: refugee (a person who leaves their country because it is not safe to stay), nursing home (a place for care of older or sick people), homeless (a person without a home).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

What are some of the new rules that Austria has implemented for refugees and how do they aim to benefit both refugees and the Austrian people?
