Baby is born after a womb transplant – level 2
11-04-2025 07:00
Grace Davidson couldn’t have a baby because she had a health problem. She was born without a womb or with one that didn’t grow well.
Everything changed in 2023 when Grace’s sister Amy gave her a womb. Amy already had two children and decided to donate her womb to her sister. After the transplant, Grace had a baby girl and named her after her sister.
Grace said the gift from her sister changed her life. Before the baby came, she felt sad and empty. She said that she feels very happy because she can be a mother. The baby’s father said it was easy to say yes to the idea. He said they will never forget what Amy did for them. Thanks to her, Grace and Angus now have a family and feel very lucky.
Difficult words: womb (a part of the body where a baby grows), donate (to let doctors give your blood or an organ to somebody else), transplant (a medical operation to put an organ into another person).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
Who donated a womb to Grace, what change did she experience after the transplant, and what special significance does her baby girl's name carry?
