Banksy Shocks at Auction – level 1

A Banksy painting went on auction in London. The name of the painting is ‘Girl With Balloon’. It sells for £1.04m.

However, things do not go as people expect. There is a shredder inside the frame of the painting. It turns on after the painting is sold. People are shocked. Everything is real. It is not a joke. Some people think that it is original and very clever.

Difficult words: expect (when you expect something, you think that it is going to happen), shredder (a machine for cutting something into pieces), frame (the wood around the picture).
