Berlin Pride parade – level 1
31-07-2024 07:00
Many people join Berlin’s Pride parade. They celebrate LGBTQ rights.
In some countries, LGBTQ people still have problems. They need more rights. A reporter meets Alex and his son Vanya from Kazakhstan. They are happy because Alex helps Vanya now. Vanya openly speaks about his sexual orientation when he moves to Germany. At first, Alex is very sad and shocked. But after some time, he takes his son as he is.
In Kazakhstan and other countries, LGBTQ people face hard rules and problems. Berlin Pride is a happy event. But it shows that many people still need help. Alex now helps LGBTQ people. He speaks about their problems. He speaks to parents from places like Georgia and Russia. They want to share love when they go back home.
Difficult words: right (what you can or cannot do as a person), sexual orientation (what gender you prefer as a sexual partner), shocked (very surprised).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
