Plastic period products are very bad for the natural world. They are fifth among single-use plastics on European beaches, which is even higher than plastic cups and straws.

The European Parliament said that it was necessary to look for alternatives. One such alternative involves biopolymer fibers which come from algae. It is naturally white or colorless, therefore it is not necessary to bleach it. These fibers are used to make tampons, but their climate impact depends on how farmers grow algae. More companies looking for a solution which will be more friendly to the natural world but safe for women to use.

Difficult words: single-use (something what you use only once), alternative (a different option), biopolymer (a polymer which comes from living organisms), bleach (to make something white).
