Brazil plane crash – level 1

13-08-2024 07:00

A plane crashes near São Paulo, Brazil.  All 61 people on the plane die.

The plane is flying from Cascavel to São Paulo. It starts turning in circles. Then it crashes in a town called Vinhedo. There is a big fire when the plane hits the ground. Experts do not know why the plane crashes yet. They have a black box, which tells them information about the plane.

At first, the airline says that 62 people are on the plane. Later, they say that there are 57 passengers and 4 crew members. It is the worst crash in Brazil since 2007.

Difficult words: airline (a company which operates planes and takes people and things from one place to another), passenger (a person who travels by plane, bus, train, and so on), crew (a group of people who work together, usually on a plane, ship, and so on).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

What town does the plane crash in, and what significant event occurs when it hits the ground?
