Britain healthcare crisis – level 1
28-08-2024 07:00
Healthcare in Britain has big problems. There are long waiting lists, and there aren’t enough doctors and nurses.
Chloe Kirbyshire’s daughter has a serious eating problem. She is waiting for six months to see a special doctor. Many other people also wait a long time. The old government does not give enough money to healthcare. So things get worse. Doctors and nurses are leaving their jobs because it is too hard. Many feel very bad. Some even take their lives.
The new government says they will give more money and make things better. But the problems are still there.
Difficult words: healthcare (help by doctors and nurses), waiting list (a lot of people waiting for something), serious (very bad).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
What are some of the reasons that doctors and nurses are leaving their jobs in Britain?
