Building falls in Jordan

A building collapses in Jordan. It happens in the capital city of Amman. The place is very popular. Many cafes, restaurants and places for people are there.

The building has four stories. People live inside. Many people are at home when the event happens.  People say that the floor suddenly breaks under their feet.

More than 10 people die. Rescuers expect that more people will die.

Rescuers save a four-month-old boy. He is not hurt. His mother is very happy. She gives out sweets in front of a hospital.

Police don’t know yet why the building collapses. They arrest three people. One of them is the owner of the building.

Difficult words: collapse (to suddenly fall), give out (to give something to many people), owner (a person who has something).
