China ends foreign adoptions

China will no longer let families from other countries adopt children from China.

Before, many children go to other countries to live with families. Most children go to the US, about 82,000. Now, China says that children should stay in China. In 2020, China stops sending children for adoption to other countries. China’s population is getting smaller. It is not good to send their children away.

China thinks that children are very important. Chinese government asks families in China to adopt. Today, people in China are more open to adopting children. One of the reasons is that many people have problems having their own child.
