Company Sends Rocket to Space – level 1

This week, NASA and the company SpaceX are sending a rocket to space. It is an important moment for NASA. The last NASA’s space flight with astronauts is in 2011.

The rocket belongs to SpaceX. It is the first private rocket that goes to space. SpaceX wants to test the rocket. SpaceX wants to send more rockets to space this year. The rockets must be safe.

Two US astronauts travel in the rocket. They check the rocket’s systems. They connect with the International Space Station.

They stay on the International Space Station. They can stay for four months. Then, they return to Earth.

Difficult words: space flight (when a rocket leaves the Earth and it travels to space), astronaut (a person who travels to space), private (when something belongs to a person or company).
