COP 27 is a conference. It takes place in Egypt. 197 world leaders speak about climate change. The most important countries are China, the United States, and the EU.

China and the US make the most emissions in the world. They promise to lower the emissions. They want to be carbon neutral in the future. This promise is difficult. Wars and bad feelings between countries make it difficult.

Brazil, South Africa, India, and China are developing countries. Developing shows they are growing quickly. They are not very rich.

These countries ask the rich countries for help. Poor countries need money for new technologies. They say that rich countries are responsible for today’s problems. The rich countries make a lot of emissions in the past.

Difficult words: climate change (the changes in the world’s weather because of people’s activity), emission (gas and pollution), carbon neutral (a situation to make less gasses than to take from the air).
