Crocs are cool again – level 2
14-04-2025 07:00
Crocs were very popular in the 2000s, but then people stopped buying them. The company made changes and started selling Jibbitz, small charms for Crocs shoes. These helped bring Crocs back.
In 2024, Crocs and its second brand, Hey Dude, made over 4 billion dollars. They worked with famous people and made special shoes to keep customers interested.
Crocs made shoes that were fun and easy to change. People liked to show their style with them. The company also sold limited edition shoes that were very popular. Crocs became cool again, especially during the pandemic when people wanted comfy shoes.
Now, the company has some problems. It may need to pay more to bring shoes from Vietnam. Also, Hey Dude caused problems with some investors and the law. But Crocs wants to grow in other countries and sell more shoes.
Difficult words: charm (a small thing for decoration), limited edition (when a company makes a small amount of product or only for a short time), comfy (comfortable, easy to wear or use).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
How did switching to fun, customizable products and celebrity partnerships help Crocs turn its fortunes around, and what hurdles is the company contending with now?
