Dog café in LA – level 3
16-11-2023 15:00
A dog café opened in Los Angeles and lets customers couple their cappuccinos with a bit of pooch playtime with dogs who are looking for a new home. Due to high demand, ten dollars gets you a cup of joe and 55 minutes with the dogs.
Every dog has been rescued from a shelter and now café owner Sarah Wolfgang and her staff are rehabilitating them. She said that her hope is to decrease the number of dogs that are euthanised at shelters across Los Angeles as well as other cities if the idea of a business like this spreads.
Difficult words: couple (put together), pooch (a dog), demand (how much people want to come), joe (slang for ‘coffee’), shelter (a place where people put homeless animals or people), decrease (make lower), euthanise (kill).
