Elections in Canada – level 1
28-10-2019 07:00
People in Canada vote for a new Prime Minister. The winner is the current Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau. He is the leader of a group called the Liberals.
He is in a difficult situation. He has 157 seats in the Canadian government for people from his group. It is not enough. He needs help of other groups to make laws.
Trudeau wants better lives for people in Canada. He also wants to protect nature. He wants to make the streets safe. In the past, he focuses on nature also. He helps people from Syria and Iraq. He makes business with the US and Mexico.
Difficult words: Prime Minister (a leader of a government), elections (a process when people choose a new person for a political post), seat (be a part of a group who can make decisions), protect (make something safe or better).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
