Google’s online search is illegal – level 1
12-08-2024 07:00
A US judge says that Google breaks the rules. Google wants to be the biggest company in online search and ads. But the company has a monopoly, and it is a problem.
This news is not good for Alphabet, Google’s parent company. Google has too much control over online searches. Google pays Apple and Samsung to be the main search on their devices. Other companies have no chance to do the business.
Google’s actions stop new ideas. In the future, Google may not make big deals, like the $20 billion deal with Apple. The idea is that Google, Apple, and Meta do not have control over the business.
Difficult words: monopoly (when one company has big power), parent company (a company which controls other companies), device (a machine or tool which people use for a specific task or activity).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
What are the potential consequences of Google's monopoly on online searches for future business deals?
