Hate Speech Online – level 1
05-04-2019 07:00
Some people are criticising website like Twitter and Facebook. The people do not like that nothing happens when famous people say something hateful on these websites.
Twitter plans to flag hateful Tweets. It does not want to delete these Tweets. It wants to put a comment on them. These comments can tell people why the Tweet has a flag.
Facebook is changing, too. It wants to stop comments from white supremacists. Facebook wants to do this in this month.
Difficult words: hateful (hateful text makes some people feel very bad), flag (show that there is something not OK about the tweets), white supremacist (a person who thinks that white people are better than non-white people).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
