Helmets for Cyclists – level 2
14-11-2019 07:00
A transportation agency recommends that all cyclists in all US states wear helmets. Between 2017 and 2018, there was an increase in cyclist deaths caused by cars.
According to the agency, head injuries are the most common cause of death of cyclists. A helmet significantly reduces the risk of an injury. However, only a half of cyclists wear a helmet.
Nowadays, more and more people choose the bike as a means of transport; therefore it is very important to protect cyclists more.
Currently, no US state has a law that cyclists must wear helmets, but in some states, children must wear them.
Difficult words: increase (a growth in number), significantly (very much), reduce the risk (to make it less likely that something will happen), means (a way or a method).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
