Ice Cream Business – level 2

19-12-2019 07:00

The world’s largest food company, Nestlé, is selling its US ice cream business to Foneri, one of the world’s largest ice cream companies.

The two companies want to make business together, and Nestlé hopes that this move can revitalize the business because the sales of Nestlé’s ice cream fell in recent years.

Foneri plans to buy Nestlé’s ice cream business in spring 2020 for about $4 billion dollars.

According to statistics, Americans eat 23 pounds of ice cream each year, which is more per capita than in any other country in the world.

Difficult words: revitalize (to put new life or energy into something), statistics (numbers that people use to measure something in the real world), per capita (for one person).
