Last week, the Maasai Olympics happen in Kenya.

Spear throw, athletics, and high jump are among the disciplines. The event is very important. Around 2,000 lions live in Kenya. The biggest problem for lions is conflict with people. Conservationists are people who work to protect the natural world. They speak with Maasai leaders to save lions in Kenya. They decide on the Olympics.

Young Maasai men train for the Olympics. They do not kill lions and other animals. Now, more lions are living in Kenya. It is one of the few places in Africa.

Difficult words: spear (a long weapon with a sharp end), discipline (a type of sport or physical activity), conflict (a fight or serious problem).
