Mountain Lion in LA – level 2

A mountain lion was roaming people’s backyards in the city of Los Angeles, and police warned people to stay inside. At one moment, the big cat pawed at someone’s front door.

The incident ended after wildlife officers shot the cat with a tranquilliser gun, and they loaded it onto a pick-up truck and removed it from the area.

Difficult words: roam (move about), paw verb (touch with a paw – an animal’s foot), tranquilliser gun (a gun which shoots a drug that makes the animal sleep).
