Old Pets in Belgium – level 2
19-10-2021 15:00
People abandon many older pets. This can happen when the owner dies, divorces or cannot pay for the vet. Often, vets euthanise these pets.
In Belgium, there is a shelter which takes in old pets. The shelter provides them with a home and love.
A married couple runs the shelter, and these two quit their jobs to work full time. It is hard work, but seeing the animals happy makes them happy, too.
Difficult words: abandon (leave, stop looking after), euthanise (kill without the animal feeling pain), shelter (a place which takes care of animals).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
