Pets in Costumes – level 1

People organise a costume competition. They organise it every year. It takes place in Manila, Philippines.

Seventy pets take part in the competition. They are dogs, cats, and a guinea pig.

The event shows people that animals are beautiful. The organisers hope that people will like animals. They will help them and not hurt them.

Difficult words: costume (clothes which make you look like somebody else), competition (an event where you try to win), take part (do something).
