Police Have New Information – level 3
10-06-2020 15:00
Madeleine McCann disappeared on the evening of May 3, 2007, shortly before her fourth birthday. The incident happened in a holiday apartment at a resort in the Algarve region, Portugal.
Madeleine and her two-year old twin siblings had been left asleep, while her parents dined with friends in a restaurant 180 feet away. The parents checked on the children throughout the evening, until their mother discovered that Madeleine was missing at 10 pm.
A new person has been identified as a suspect in the disappearance of Madeleine. The police have not named the man; however, they revealed that he was a 43-year-old German man who lived on the Algarve coast at the time of Madeleine’s disappearance.
A phone call was made to his Portuguese mobile phone around an hour before Madeleine went missing. The police said that the suspect was linked to a white camper van that he was driving in the area days before the incident took place.
Difficult words: suspect (the person who the police believe did a crime), reveal (to make some information public), camper van (a motor vehicle that is used for living in on holidays).
