Presidents Meet – level 1

On Monday, the Russian President and the Ukrainian President meet. This is the first time since people vote in Ukraine in April. This meeting is very important.

It can help end fights in Donbas, eastern Ukraine. The fights start in 2014. 13,000 people die there already.

The two residents also meet with the French President and the German Chancellor. They plan to meet alone later. The Russian President is a skilled speaker. Ukrainians worry that he wants to win the discussion which is not good for the future of Ukraine.

Difficult words: vote (to choose the right person for a job, usually in politics), skilled (very good at something), speaker (a person who speaks in front of other people).
