Sri Lanka has many problems now. People have no money for food. They are angry. They say that the government doesn’t work to end the crisis.

People start many protests. Last weekend, people protest in the capital Colombo. Thousands of people are in front of the president’s official home.

They fight with police. They get through the barriers. They run inside the building.

The president is not there. He leaves one day before the protests. Some people swim in his pool. They shout. They want the president to resign.

Some officials say that they will resign.

Difficult words: crisis (a very difficult or dangerous time), barrier (a fence to stops someone), resign (to leave a job or office).
