This week, Qatar opens a very big solar power plant. A solar power plant makes electricity from the sun. The power plant is very big.

It is on an area of 10 square kilometers. Nearly 2 million solar panels are there. They move as the sun moves.

Qatar is a very sunny country. The sun shines all the time. The power plant makes electricity all year. It can make 1.6 gigawatts of electricity by 2030. The country will become more friendly to the natural world.

Several companies help build the power plant. The project costs around 500 million dollars.

Difficult words: solar panel (a machine which changes energy from the sun into electricity), gigawatt (a unit of power which is one billion watts), project (a very big piece of work).
