Real Lightsabre Fights – level 3

Lightsabre duelling could be seen only in Star Wars films, but the French Fencing Federation recently made it an official sport in the country. The lightsabre replicas are harmless, but they can look and sound just like the weapons in the movies.

A lightsabre manufacturer said that it makes very basic ones, which only have an on-off button, and come in different colours or shapes. The more expensive versions include sound and blade effects.

During battle, the Jedis or Siths can earn five points for a blow to the opponent’s head, three for striking the arms and legs and one point for hitting the hands. The winner is the person who reaches fifteen points first.

Difficult words: harmless (it cannot harm/hurt/injure anybody), Jedi and Sith (the characters from the Star Wars films), blow noun (a hit, a strike).
