Singapore anime festival – level 2
02-12-2022 15:00
Last weekend, the Anime Festival Asia happened in Singapore. Cosplayers and fans of anime from all of Southeast Asia could finally meet after two years of COVID-19 rules and laws.
The festival started in 2008, and since that time it became popular all over the world. Anime comes from Japan, but many anime events now happen outside of Asia. Cosplayers like to dress up as their favorite anime characters, and they often enjoy the music from Japanese anime movies. The pandemic didn’t badly impact the event because fans met online during that time.
In 2019, the three-day event welcomed 120,000 visitors, and organizers expect that this year’s number will be the same or even higher.
Difficult words: cosplayer (a person who wears a costume of a fictional character), anime (a style of animation which uses colorful images and characters can have large eyes), dress up (to put on unusual, fancy, or formal clothes for a special event).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
