SpaceX rocket – level 2
26-01-2016 15:00
Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX, posted a video online of the company’s rocket. It shows the rocket landing on a barge. The rocket landed, but one of its legs broke, and the rocket fell over and exploded.
Before the rocket’s unsuccessful return to Earth, it safely delivered an ocean-monitoring satellite into orbit.
Accidents happen, but the company managed to land a rocket just last month. It was a historic moment.
Difficult words: CEO (a chief executive officer – the boss of a company), barge (a big ship which cannot move fast), Earth (our planet), orbit (the orbit around Earth – the way in which satellites move around Earth).
You can read the original story and watch the video in the Level 3 section.
