Tesla Cybercab – level 2

17-10-2024 07:00

Elon Musk showed off Tesla’s new robotaxi, the Cybercab, at a big event in Los Angeles.

The Cybercab has no steering wheel or pedals, and it opens with two wing doors. It will cost less than 30,000 dollars, and production will start in 2026. Musk also revealed a robovan, which can carry up to 20 people. Tesla is now focusing more on robotics than just making cars.

Musk believes these self-driving cars will be much safer than human drivers, but there are still problems with safety and laws. The Cybercab will cost 20 cents per mile to operate, while the robovan will cost only 5 cents per mile.

Musk also talked about Tesla’s Optimus humanoid robot. But some investors were disappointed that there were not clear production details or timelines for the robotaxi.

Difficult words: steering wheel (a part of a car to control where you are going), robotics (designing and operating of robots), humanoid (looking like a person).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

What are some of the features of Tesla's new Cybercab and how does Elon Musk believe it compares to human drivers in terms of safety?
