A four-day wedding for the son of Asia’s richest man started in Mumbai, India. The wedding follows months of big celebrations which cost hundreds of millions of dollars.
Famous people from around the world are attending the wedding. Some people think it is good for the economy and shows Indian artists to the world. But many people are upset because there is a lot of poverty in India. They think it is wrong to spend so much money on a wedding when many people in India are poor.
Anant Ambani, 29 years old, is marrying Radhika Merchant. The Ambani family lives in a 5-billion-dollar skyscraper. The celebrations are very expensive, with costs from 300 million to 600 million dollars.
Difficult words: attend (to take part in an event), poverty (when someone has little or no money), skyscraper (a very tall building).
