Train almost hits a man – level 2
11-10-2023 15:00
A train that was travelling 88 kilometres per hour nearly hit a man. A security camera filmed the incident in the state of Victoria, Australia.
The man walked onto the line without paying attention. He made it to the side of the opposite platform before he heard the train’s horn. The train started to slow down and the man had time to move out of the train’s way.
Difficult words: pay attention (to know what is happening), platform (the raised area where people wait for a train), horn (something which makes a warning sound).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

What impact could this incident have had on the man if he had not moved out of the train's way in time?
