UK vape ban – level 1
02-02-2024 15:00
Vape is a type of e-cigarette. Many children in the UK use it. The UK government plans to stop this.
It is now illegal to sell vapes to people under 18. But many children buy it anyway. The packaging has bright colors. Children like it. They do not think that vaping is dangerous. The new rules want to stop marketing vapes to children. Children under 18 will not have the chance to buy vape. Many adults use vape, too. They often do it when they want to stop smoking cigarettes.
The ban may start in 2025.
Difficult words: illegal (against the rules), marketing (a business activity which makes people buy something), ban (to officially stop something).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
What steps is the UK government taking to prevent children from using vapes and why is it important to stop them?
