US Service Members Die in Syria – level 2

On Wednesday, US service members died in an explosion in Syria, and it is unclear how many people died in total.

However, Syrian news said that at least ten people died, including civilians. ISIS took responsibility for the explosion. Before the incident, only two US service members died in Syria.

Less than a month ago, US President Trump said that he would withdraw soldiers from Syria, and they started leaving last week.

Difficult words: service member (a person in a country’s military – a soldier), civilian (a person who is not in the military – a soldier), withdraw (remove).
