USA and Venezuela – level 1

The USA is unhappy with Venezuela’s president. People vote for another person to be the president. However, the current president is not stepping down.

America has a man who is working on this problem. This man works in the 1980s. He wants to overthrow Nicaragua’s government. It is possible that he wants to overthrow Venezuela’s government, too.

However, this is a problem. People around the world may not like that America changes something in Venezuela.

Difficult words: step down (stop being a leader), overthrow (take over a government), government (the leaders, the bosses of a country).
