Virginia Gun Laws – level 2

In Virginia, USA, some politicians wanted to pass a law that would ban the sale of some guns and gun parts. However, other politicians, including four moderates, voted to reject the ban.

The state has been in an ongoing discussion about gun control, and it is working to pass some new laws. One says that you can buy only one handgun a month, and another is to check all people’s histories when they buy guns.

Difficult words: ban (to stop, to not allow), moderate (a person who does not have strong views), reject (to turn down).
