Water in Venice – level 1

It rains a lot in Italy. This makes the tide very high. The centre of Venice is flooded. The water goes up by around 113 centimetres. People walk on wooden platforms. Some people walk through the water.

Difficult words: tide (how high or low the water is), flood (go under water), platform (a side walk which looks like a small bridge).
