Many people wonder why humans have hair on their heads.

While our ancestors, people who lived before us, lost body fur, and hair on the head seems to be really practical. It keeps the brain safe because it is insulation in cold, on the other hand, it stops the brain from overheating when it is too hot. Also, hair absorbs sweat and protects the skin from UV rays. Scientists believe that in the past, hair played an important role in choosing a sexual partner. But these days, hats protect our heads, so hair doesn’t seem as important anymore.

Difficult words: fur (the short soft hair of some animals), insulation (material which protects something or someone from heat or cold), sweat (a salty liquid which we have on our skin when we are hot).
