Why people like crime – level 1
08-02-2022 07:00
People like crime. People are interested in bad things. It is natural for them. Writers in the 16th century write short crime stories. People buy the stories.
People also like to watch hangings. The event is very popular in the 16th century. It usually happens in the middle of a town. People buy tickets for hangings.
Today, people watch true crime stories on TV. These stories are about something bad that really happens. Many people listen to true crime podcasts, too.
More women than men are interested in crime stories. Experts say that women are more interested in a killer’s thoughts.
Difficult words: crime (when someone harms someone else or does something very bad), natural (something that happens in the world without people’s control), hanging (an event to kill a bad person by holding him up with a rope on his neck)).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
